Background
The managing director Mr Jim Skyrm started his roof tiling career in Melbourne, Victoria 1969.  After training in the new housing industry he then moved to roof restoration work. Melbourne had a rich source of heritage buildings and old style mansions including slate in which he honed his skills, working with the best tradesmen he could find.

He then moved to Griffith in the Riverina in 1975 and continued roof tiling. His work radius was approximately 100 miles and at the time the Riverina was growing rapidly with the irrigation, opening new areas and towns giving him even more variation to his skills.

By 1989 things slowed down so Jim moved his company to Sydney where he soon found a ready market for his company’s special skills…re-roofing, roof slating, roof restoration and heritage work, roof renovations,  new roof installation and roof repairs.

Sydney Re Roofing Pty Ltd train their own staff beyond the normal apprenticeship level so we are able to maintain the level of skill needed for the type of roofing projects we are involved in.

Most of our staff have been with the company for over fifteen years and Jim is still very much involved in the everyday running of the roofing business and the training of staff.
